Sheila
Sheila was born and raised in Hialeah, Florida. After marrying her husband,Mike, they moved to Daytona Beach. While living in Florida, many of their vacations were to the North Georgia area and they eventually relocated to Gainesville in 1998. Sheila's employment background includes many years in management in the resort industry in central and south Florida, but her passion since childhood has been rescuing stray cats. This passion led to a career change in 2001 when she accepted the position of Hospital Manager at Gainesville Veterinary Hospital. Sheila and Mike now reside in Dahlonega with their five crazy cats.
Receptionists
Brett
Brett was born in Karachi, Pakistan and raised in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Prior to joining Gainesville Veterinary Hospital, she worked for Hyatt Hotels as a guest services specialist and as a Gainesville pre-K teacher at First Presbyterian Preschool. Brett's intense love for animals convinced her to join our hospital team four years ago. She currently lives in Dahlonega where she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved dog, Sam.
Ashlie
Ashlie was born in Watkinsville, GA. but relocated to Florida as a child. During her adolescent years she enjoyed her free time as a competitive gymnast. Ashlie went on to Brenau University after graduation from high school and during her senior year moved to Swaziland, Africa to work with children affected by HIV and AIDS. Ashlie is now married and has two handsome sons. Rounding out the family are their two dogs and several cats.
Lacey
Lacey has been a faithful employee for more than six years. She began her employment as a receptionist and continues to use her excellent customer service skills. Lacey, a Hall county native, currently lives in Gainesville with her husband, their beautiful daughter and their five cats. She is a current member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church and when not volunteering at the church she enjoys shopping and reading.
Veterinary Assistants

arnee
Marnee was born and raised on Hilton Head Island, S.C. She began working with animals at an early age and her passion at that time was horses. While in Hilton Head, Marnee worked as a professional horse trainer and riding instructor. She moved to Gainesville about seven years ago, and her love for animals brought her to Gainesville Veterinary Hospital shortly after her arrival. She currently spends her day assisting the veterinary surgeons and making sure recovering patients are comfortable. When not at work, Marnee enjoys spending time with her cat, Mobis, and her dog, Balkie.
Michelle
Michelle was born in Pennsylvania, but grew up in sunny Florida. She came to Georgia in 1992 to pursue a degree in Biology at Georgia College. After graduation Michelle was drawn to veterinary medicine and began work as a veterinary assistant eight years ago. She joined the team at Gainesville Veterinary Hospital in 2002 and has been caring for Gainesville's pets with a loving and kind attitude every year. Michelle currently lives in Flowery Branch with her husband, four dogs and five cats.
Veterinary Technician
Shannon
Shannon is known as a Georgia transplant here in the south. She was born and raised outside of Chicago in Plainfield, IL., and moved to Georgia and joined Gainesville Veterinary Hospital in April 2006. Shannon received her Certified Veterinary Technician degree in 2002 and has worked in the veterinary field for 12 years. She is married to husband, Clark, and has three young children, Gracey, Bradey and Jake. All three children are following in her footsteps by caring for the family pets which include several dogs, cats and guinea pigs. Shannon's hobbies include biking, photography, and running with her dogs.
Patient Care Attendant
Leanne
Leanne was born in Marietta, Georgia and continued to live there until she attended college. She began her work with animals in childhood as a pet sitter for friends and neighbors, and during her college years, she worked for a nearby pet resort. Following college graduation, Leanne married her high school sweatheart and moved to Gainesville. Not long after moving here she began to search for a place where she could care for the animals she loves. Leanne began her employment with Gainesville Veterinary Hospital in May 2009 and continues to love caring for her special patients. When not at work she enjoys attending church at Blackshear Place Baptist and spending time with friends and family.
